| The 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship follows the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier. Before a duelists can compete in the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship, they must first register for the qualifier and meet the registration criteria. Once registered, it's time to compete for a chance to be the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Champion. |

| In order to compete in the in the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship, competitors must be one of the final 64 duelists from the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier. The 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier consists of two main components. The first three rounds (Round One, Round Two, and Round Three) are held online in head-to-head play. Beginning with Round Five, the final 4 duelists travel to San Diego, California for the live portion of the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship. |

| The 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship are being held this summer. The US Champion and the runner-up travel to the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championships in Berlin, Germany. The dates for the World Championships are August 8th, 2008 and August 9th, 2008. At the World Championships, the US Champion and Runner-Up will compete against the best duelists from around the world including Asia, Europe and more. Just like the US Championship, duelists competing in the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship will play head-to-head using a Nintendo DS™. |

| During the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier and the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship, all online head-to-head play is conducted within the agreed to "Play Window" (The Play Window is the agreed to time frame when the duel takes place). The higher seeded duelist proposes two Play Windows. The lower seed must accept one of these two Play Windows or be disqualified. |

| The two duelists must be ready to play at the agreed to Play Window with their copy of the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2008 game loaded into their Nintendo DS™ and be connected to the Internet on their Nintendo DS™. Failure to be ready to play at the appointed time will result in immediate disqualification. |
